Life, Humans and Ecosystems
This video reinvigorated a concept I’ve been tossing around for a couple of years. Humans are part of ecosystems, not separate. When most think of ecosystems, they think of a trout stream, a native prairie, a rainforest, or a tundra. When most people think of ecosystems, they don’t think of humans. I believe humans are part of these ecosystems. For example, I consider downtown New York an ecosystem and I consider my neighborhood an ecosystem.
To take this concept one step further, I even believes markets, mimic ecosystems. In this analogy, a company’s brand represents its niche in the larger system (market). This brand must adapt and evolve in these complex ecosystems, or go extinct. I’ll provide more on this parallel later, but wanted to plant the seed now.
